General guidelines for administering Cheristin

  • Treatment can begin any time of the year, preferably one month before fleas become active, and should continue through the end of flea season. Learn more about flea season in your area.
  • In areas where fleas may be active all year, monthly treatment with Cheristin should continue year-round without interruption.
  • If you miss a dose, simply apply and resume a monthly application schedule that begins one month from the application of the last dose.
  • To avoid a flea re-infestation, treat all animals in your household with a veterinarian-approved flea-protection product. Find out more about effective flea treatments for pets.

Cheristin comes in convenient 6-dose and 1-dose packs to meet your needs.

Cheristin is not for use on humans. Like all flea-control products, keep Cheristin for cats out of the reach of children.

Follow these steps to protect your cat

  1. Hold the applicator tube upright and press cap down until it clicks, indicating the tube has been punctured, remove cap. Make sure there is an opening at the tip of the tube.
  2. Part the hair on your cat’s neck at the base of the head until skin is visible. Place the tip of the tube directly above the skin and squeeze 2-4 times to dispense the contents directly on the skin.

For best results, apply at the base of the head, not between shoulder blades. Avoid getting Cheristin in your pet's eyes or mouth. Treatment at the base of the head will minimize the risk of your cat directly licking the product. Do not allow your cat to ingest Cheristin. There may be a small amount of residual product remaining in the tube after a full dose is administered. Discard the applicator tube in the trash.
